Last week at Hardin Valley Church

Such a wonderful time ministering at Morning Pointe – The Lantern on Sunday! Happy faces and full hearts!

On Sunday we honored Pastor Rodney & Mrs. Andrea. They moved (along with their daughter Allison and son Reilly) to Knoxville 12 years ago to minister at Hardin Valley Church!

The first week of school is under our belt! New routines, busy schedules, homework, practices, activities, and all the demands that come with a new school year can quickly fill our calendars and consume our attention. But as life gets busy, let us be careful not to neglect the most important things. We must not allow the demands of school and daily life to crowd out our time with the Lord. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” — Matthew 6:33
Faithfulness does not happen by accident. It takes intentionality to read our Bibles, spend time in prayer, attend church faithfully, and keep our hearts tender toward the things of God. The school year will bring challenges, opportunities, disappointments, and victories, but through it all, we need the Lord. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 Don’t let a busy schedule become an excuse for spiritual neglect. Make the Lord a priority each day, and determine that your faithfulness to Him will not be dependent upon how busy your week becomes.
As we settle into this school year, let’s remember that our greatest responsibility is not simply to succeed in the classroom, but to walk faithfully with Christ. Parents, encourage your children to spend time in God’s Word and pray with them. Students, begin each day asking the Lord for wisdom, strength, and opportunities to be a testimony. Church family, let’s remain faithful to the house of God and encourage one another along the way. “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” — 1 Corinthians 4:2 May we enter this new school year determined that, no matter how full our schedules become, we will remain faithful to the Lord.

Join us this Sunday at 9:30 AM for Sunday School! We offer classes for all ages and stages, including children, teens, adults, and seniors. Grow in faith, fellowship, and understanding. Find your place in a group and feel right at home.
