Why Do We Need Missionaries in Montana?
When most people think of missions, they think of faraway countries. However, the truth is that there are mission fields right here in our nation—places like Montana. It’s one of the largest states in the U.S., but it’s also one of the least reached when it comes to the Gospel.
Did you know that nearly 70% of Montana’s towns have no Bible-preaching church? In some counties, there may be only one or two small congregations serving hundreds of square miles. That means thousands of people don’t have regular access to sound teaching, Christian fellowship, or even a place to worship on Sundays.
Jesus said, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few” (Matthew 9:37). That is undoubtedly true in Montana. Many communities are spiritually dry, and the need for gospel-centered churches is great.
The Apostle Paul wrote, “How shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” (Romans 10:14b-15a). God is still calling men and women to go—and He is still using local churches like ours to send and support them.
Let’s pray for the Prices as they move to minister in Montana. Let’s support them financially. And let’s remember that missions aren’t just overseas—they’re needed in our backyard!
