Summer has a way of slipping through our fingers, doesn’t it? One minute it’s the first day out of school, and now here we are, staring down the last few weeks before backpacks and bus routes take over again. It’s tempting to coast through these final days — one more trip to the pool, one more lazy Saturday, one more “we’ll get to it later.” But let’s not waste what the Lord has given us. These last weeks of summer are still His to use, and they’re still ours to steward well. Make them count for Jesus. Whether it’s a conversation with your kids around the dinner table, a neighbor you’ve been meaning to invite to church, or simply slowing down enough to notice where God is at work around you — don’t let these days just run out the clock.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 tells us, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.” That’s not just a verse for the busy season — it’s a verse for the slow, sunburnt days of August too. School will bring its own rhythm soon enough, its own busyness and demands, and once it does, these open, unhurried days won’t come back around till next year. So look for one more chance to serve, one more chance to witness, one more chance to gather your family around God’s Word before the schedules fill back up. Let’s finish this summer strong — not coasting to the end, but running it out full, for His glory.
