Pray, Connect, Grow — It’s All Happening This Week at HV

There’s something easy about being “the church” on Sunday morning — the music, the sweet treats and coffee, the worship, the sermon, the fellowship after… we gather like family come home. But the real test of our faith isn’t in the church seats; it’s on Tuesday afternoon and Thursday night, when nobody’s watching but the Lord Himself. Let’s be a church between the Sundays. Let’s be the same people in our kitchens and workplaces that we are when the hymns are playing. Faith that only shows up once a week isn’t faith — it’s a performance. Faith that steadies our hands on the ordinary days, that’s the real thing.

Paul wrote it well in Galatians 6:9 — “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” That’s a between-the-Sundays verse. It’s written for the meal you cook for a grieving neighbor, the patience you show your kids on a hard evening, the kind word you give a stranger. So don’t just carry your Bible to church — carry it home. Let’s be a church between the Sundays, so when we gather again, we bring a whole week’s worth of faithfulness with us.
