Pray, Connect, Grow — It’s All Happening This Week at HV

Summer has a way of scattering us. From vacations to ballgames and lake days, and suddenly it’s been three Sundays since we’ve gathered together. Can I gently nudge you about something? These next couple of months matter. Not because God loves us less when we’re at the beach (He doesn’t!), but because our faithfulness in the ordinary, unglamorous stretches of life is exactly where our walk with Him gets tested and grown. Hebrews 10:25 tells us not to forsake “the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Summer’s just as good a day for exhortation as any other.

So here’s my ask, church family, and I say this with a smile, not a scowl: keep showing up. Keep giving faithfully, even when the budget of your vacation fund is competing with the offering plate (Proverbs 3:9 reminds us to “honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase”). Keep serving where you’re needed, even when your schedule feels stretched thin, remembering that “as every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1 Peter 4:10). Summer will be over before we know it. Let’s make sure we come out the other side of it closer to the Lord, not further from His house. See you Sunday!
