Church, I want to take a moment to brag on you. These past few weeks, several of you showed up for the Blackwell and Gahagan families with meals, prayers, gifts, and encouragement, and that’s exactly what I mean when I say “church between the Sundays.” Being the body of Christ isn’t just something we do for an hour on Sunday morning; it’s showing up with a casserole on a Tuesday night, checking in on a neighbor, and carrying each other’s burdens when life gets hard. Galatians 6:2 tells us to “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” That’s church. That’s family. Thank you for living it out.
I’m so grateful to be part of a church family that doesn’t just talk about love, you show it. The Blackwells and Gahagans felt the love of Jesus through your hands and your hospitality, and that matters more than we sometimes realize. Acts 2:46 describes the early church as those who continued “daily with one accord… and did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.” That’s the kind of fellowship we’re called to — real, ongoing, everyday involvement in one another’s lives. Keep it up, church. This is what it looks like to follow Jesus together.
