LIVE Love and Respect Marriage Conference
September 26th-27th, 2025 | First Baptist Cleveland – Cleveland, TN

Join us this Sunday at 9:30 AM for Sunday School!
We offer classes for every age and stage—children, teens, adults, and seniors.
Come grow in faith, fellowship, and understanding.
Find your place in a group and feel right at home.

As we pause this Labor Day to rest from our work, let’s remember that labor itself is a gift from God. From the beginning, He gave Adam the task of tending the garden—not as a burden, but as a blessing. Work allows us to serve others, provide for our families, and reflect God’s creativity. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (Colossians 3:23). Whether you’re clocking in at an office, caring for loved ones, or organizing a group trip (yes, even those detailed itineraries!), your labor matters to Him.
But rest is holy too. God Himself rested on the seventh day—not because He was tired, but to set a rhythm for us. Labor Day reminds us to slow down, breathe, and thank God for the strength He gives. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). If your heart feels weary, Jesus offers more than a day off—He offers soul-deep renewal.
So today, let’s celebrate both the work of our hands and the rest of our souls. Grill something tasty, laugh with loved ones, and take a moment to thank the Lord for His provision. May your labor be fruitful, your rest refreshing, and your heart full of gratitude. Happy Labor Day!
