The forecast calls for the rain to wash away any snow by the early morning, but please use caution when traveling. If we need to cancel or change the service times to afternoon, we will update all the usual places online. We are hopeful the rain will take care of any frozen precipitation.

As we listen to the weather forecasts chaange and update, we can imagine a quiet blanket of wintry precipitation covering our hills and neighborhoods. It reminds us that God often uses the stillness of winter to slow our pace and turn our hearts toward Him. The psalmist declared, “He giveth snow like wool: He scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes” (Psalm 147:16). What looks cold and silent to us is, in truth, another display of the Lord’s power and faithful care over His creation. Even the winter season preaches a sermon if we’re willing to listen.
Snow has a way of making everything look clean and new, and it points us to the greater cleansing only Christ can give. Isaiah proclaimed, “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18). What a mercy that the God who governs the weather also offers forgiveness, restoration, and a fresh start to every repentant heart. Winter may chill the air, but the grace of God warms the soul.
Let’s use this season to cultivate gratitude, patience, and renewed trust in the Lord. Take time to pray with your family, encourage a neighbor, or simply pause to thank God for His goodness. May the beauty of the promised (or not) snow remind us that even in the coldest months, our Savior is near, faithful, and working all things for His glory and our good.
