I Will be “One” for God

Bible Text: Judges 6:1–6 |

    Will you be one for God this year?

    Israel is in terrible condition because of the punishment for their sins. Notice several elements of the story.

    1. Condition of the People (Judges 6:1–6

    They are reaping the consequences of their sins

    They are trusting that God will hear their cries.

    1. Call to Remember (Judges 6:7-10)

    7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites,

    8 That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;

    9 And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land;

    10 And I said unto you, I am the LORD your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.

    Weak in his Faith

    Has Trouble Believing God

    Has Trouble with People who didn’t like change

    Positive

    Believes God’s Messenger

    Tears Down Idols

    Worship God at altar

    Follow God’s plan when it seems to unwise

    Gives God the Glory

    1. God gives a mighty victory through the obedience of a few

    Will you be one? One of 300?

    Will you follow? Obey? Worship? Tear down idols?
