Hospitality

Hospitality is a virtue emphasized in the Bible as an essential aspect of Christian living. In Hebrews 13:2, believers are encouraged to practice hospitality: “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” This verse highlights the transformative potential of hospitality, and it underscores the selfless nature of hospitality, urging believers to extend kindness to others.

The importance of hospitality is further emphasized in 1 Peter 4:9, where we are instructed to open our homes with a spirit of generosity: “Use hospitality one to another without grudging.” And here’s the attitude with which hospitality should be extended – not begrudgingly, but with a generous and open heart. It encourages us to cultivate a spirit of generosity, reflecting the love and kindness that God has shown them. Romans 12:13, reminds us to be diligent in practicing hospitality: “Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.” This reinforces the idea that hospitality is not merely a suggestion but a tangible expression of love and care, especially towards fellow believers in times of need.

February Memory Verses

Revelation 20:13-15

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
