1- Love and obey Jehovah as the only true God (vv. 1–5);
2- Teach your children God’s laws (vv. 6–9);

1. Incomplete Obedience Always Creates Spiritual Problems
What you refuse to remove will eventually rule you.
2. Compromise Always Becomes Captivity
The progression:
• They tolerated sin
• Then they lived alongside sin
• Then they were influenced by sin
• Then they were enslaved by sin
Sin never stays in its place. It always spreads.
3. The Pattern of Spiritual Decline Becomes Cyclical
Judges 2:10–19 Sin doesn’t just repeat—it gets worse.
They forgot what the Lord had done (vv. 6–10).
They forsook what the Lord had said (vv. 11–13).
They forfeited what the Lord had promised (vv. 14–15).
They failed to learn from what the Lord did (vv. 16–23).
4. The Next Generation Becomes Unbelievers
They didn’t pass down:
• Truth
• Testimony
• Fear of God
