Confidence In The Midst of Calamity

Psalm 46:1-3

What Is Calamity?

An event causing great and often sudden damage or distress

When calamity is mentioned, how do you react?

-What do you think about?

-How do you feel?

-What do you see?

-What do you hear?

Why Does Calamity Exists?

-Every question we have always must require a Biblical answer.

-We must come to the realization of the reality of sin and its effects, not just in creation, but in our personal lives.

Four Scenes of Calamity (Four Changes Taking Place In Creation)

-Though the Earth Be Removed...

-Though The Mountains Are Carried Into The Midst Of The Sea...

-Though The Waters Roar And Be Troubled...

-Though The Mountains Shake With The Swelling Thereof...

These have not just occurred at one time or another, but they are taking place right now, and continuing to persist.

We can relate to this, not just in creation, but in our personal lives.

Two Things:

Circumstance (See, Hear, Feel, Think)-Changes

Perspective-Does Not (Truth)

May We Dare Not Consult Circumstance Over Perspective

Where Is The Confidence In The Midst Of The Calamity?

-God Is...

-Refuge

-Strength

-Very Present

-Help In Trouble

*Our*

-We Will Not Be Overcome With Fear!

-We Will Not Be Afraid Of Calamity!

-We Will Not Be Moved By Circumstance!

*GOD IS GOD-REGARDLESS OF WHAT I SEE, WHAT I HEAR, WHAT I THINK, OR HOW I EVEN FEEL*

Have You Paused and Reflected?
